I've found that authentic friendship is possible only if both parties respond to the SAME THINGS in the SAME WAY. See how you respond to the following: I'm 67 with silver hair and blue eyes, fit and active. I taught myself to compose music and write philosophy by reading Mozart and Aristotle, Bach and Rand. My music is classical of the melodious kind, tunes you can whistle to. Discovered the only possible proof of Aristotle's and Rand's moral norm long ago. But I'm strangely lacking in ambition, and have little interest in publishing. Care about politics, but not very much. I don't even know the name of the mayor of my town. ess. For me a loving companion is all that matters, male or female. My intellectual and artistic achievements mean nothing by comparison, especially now that I'm alone for the first time in my life and there's no one to share them with.
A believer, but not religiously active right now. Prefer the companionship of men--don't most men?--because of their bedrock of good-will toward their fellowmen in general, which makes their friendly feelings steadfast, and also because of the fact that they have a sense of humor, both of which most women lack, indeed, whose ill-will is too easily provoked and whose sharp tongues are too quickly engaged. And because women lack this 'bedrock' of good-will for people in general, there is nothing deep-down within them to sustain their friendly feelings, leading them to turn their friendliness on and off as with a light switch. If I enjoy the companionship of both sexes for the different way each makes me feel, in general I love men more. And why not? Most of them are born more lovable than most women. It's a brain thing. Inasmuch as I want children, if a woman has read this far and is one of the few women whom the foregoing portrayal doesn't fit, well, feel free to contact me, too.
