I Can't Imagine Being with Someone Who Didn't at Least Understand Libertarianism Dating isn't the most important thing to me, but I do find it very frustrating that my political views always seem so radical to any man I speak to. "Smaller government" seems as unsexy a phrase as "I have excessive backhair" (which I do not). I just thought I'd try a place where I stand a shot at talking more than ten minutes with someone before scaring him off. Or at least, if I DO scare him off, it will be with my lame singing or sarcasm, not because of my politics.

Outside of political views, I enjoy reading (Stephen King, Tolkien, Agatha Christie; Hitchhiker's Guide, The Merlin Trilogy, 1984, Farenheit 451, Jane Eyre, and about a zillion others I'll think of later and go, "Oh, I totally should have put that!"). I also love computer games and video games although I generally suck at them. As far as music goes, I prefer older stuff (Stones, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Styx, Doors, Who, etc.), but I recently listened to a couple country songs on tv and they weren't half as bad as I'd expected. Well, one was, but there were a couple that were right on, so I'd definitely be open to listening to music I've not been exposed to.

I like low-key hanging out situations. Talking endlessly over coffee and watching something hilarious with my friends constitutes a night out for me these days (and I'm MORE than fine with that). Going out to eat is fun (I adore food and I wish I had a more forgiving metabolism, but I just don't), and my tastes are cheap enough to even have a blast at McDonald's.

I tend to be the comic relief in situations (part of me wants to try stand up, someday), but I can be sensitive about certain issues. Mostly about people who have used me a little roughly over the years.

I work with first graders and I love what I do because of the kids. I hate to sound all maternal, but I do love them. I mean, I show up for work and thirty little faces light up. Last Tuesday I made a gingerbread house and got paid to do it! Who couldn't love that?
