`I guess you could say I am. I would be happy with anarchist, libertarian or our own constitution of individual liberty. Of course when one mentions liberty. It is never with individual attached to it. There is no liberty beyond one.

Many prefer mob "democracy" rule, where we are in this together. That way at least I am in the group when it fails.

My name, "chuck" means free man. So I ask, is it rebellion when I do not subject my freedoms to your self delegated authority over me?

Give me freedom or give me death

`I've always maintained it's not so much the form of government that is the issue, as it is the people in charge. For instance, you have people like Edward III of England, Ghenghis Khan of Mongolia, or Marcus Auralaeus of Rome who were exceptional dictators / monarchs. Sadly, these are few and far between.

Democracy could work if the majority were informed. Ironically, if the majority were informed, they probably wouldn't choose democracy as their preferred form of government. _

Until that time, government is more just a control mechanism to keep the masses in check, as though they were a bunch of children in danger of hurting themselves, needing help to wipe their own arses. Sadly, these same powers presume that everyone is a helpless belligerent child.

`Yes indeed.

Australia has just elected its first libertarian Senator - David Leyonhjelm - and he may end up having the balance of power in the Senate come July this year.

His party is called the Liberal Democrats and their inspiration is Milton Freidman.

What is so extraordinary is that 200 years ago the US founding fathers anticipated so much of the current political debate.

Socialists like Obama (you call them "liberals") think that the solution comes from more cotrol when in fact, its exactly the opposite.

In Australia John Howard created a budget surplus ten years ago, but six years of left-wing government have squandered it and now Australia has massive debts
